Canada the brave! It’s hard to remember one country taking the tennis world by storm in the way that our friends in the north have done, despite the prevailing conditions being snow and ice for four months of the year.

Félix Auger-Aliassime and Denis Shapovalov both reached the semi-finals of the Miami Open this week – an extraordinary achievement, when you consider that both are still teenagers. And then there is Bianca Andreescu, another 18-year-old, who won a $1.7m (£1.3m) cheque in Indian Wells a fortnight ago. Together, these three have the talent to fly the maple leaf for the next decade or more.
